The Bees travel to Loftus Road this Sunday for their final away game of the season as they face QPR in the FAWNL Division One South East.

London Bees:

London Bees were knocked out of the Capital Women’s Cup after a 5–2 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur, despite leading at half-time.

The Bees started strongly and went ahead through Martins in the 12th minute, holding a deserved 1–0 lead at the break after solid defending and attacking pressure.

However, Tottenham turned the game around early in the second half, scoring twice in quick succession before adding two more goals to make it 4–1.

Hoare briefly pulled one back for the Bees with a long-range free kick, but Spurs sealed the win with a fifth goal late on.

A promising first-half performance ultimately wasn’t enough, as a dominant second half from Tottenham ended the Bees’ cup run.

In the dugout:

London Bees coach James McKimm spoke ahead of this Sunday’s saying:

“Our last Away trip of the season and what an iconic ground to end our travels at.

But there’s still a game to be played.

I know all the staff and players are ready and raring to go, and we’re looking to finish the season strongly, so we’ll be bringing our full focus and hoping to leave with the three points”.

Queens Park Rangers:

Queens Park Rangers Women are a London-based side formed in 2019 as part of the Queens Park Rangers F.C. community structure, competing in the FA Women’s National League Division One South East.

Despite being a relatively new team, they have made steady progress, earning promotion to the fourth tier after COVID affected early seasons and winning the Capital Senior Cup in 2020–21, their first major honour.

The club also builds on a deeper historical link to the original QPR Ladies side founded in 1969, which was a pioneer in women’s football and famously won the WFA Cup in 1977, becoming the first London team to do so.

In their most recent fixture, Queens Park Rangers Women were held to a 2–2 draw by Chatham Town Women on Easter Sunday.

QPR started strongly and took the lead in the 28th minute through a superb strike from Jess Leach, taking a strong control of the first half and creating several chances.

However, Chatham improved after the break and equalised in the 66th minute.

The Hoops responded quickly, regaining the lead in the 74th minute when Emily Hill finished well from a Leach delivery, but Chatham struck again late on to make it 2–2 in the final moments of the game.

Queens Park Rangers last five results:

QPR 2 – 2 Chatham Town

Luton Town 0 – 0 QPR

QPR 1 – 0 Actonians

Dulwich Hamlet 2 – 1

QPR 3 – 1 Cambridge United

In the opposition dugout:

QPR manager Danny Harrigan took charge of the London side in July 2024, leading the development of the team through the Division One South East.

In July 2025, he became the club’s first full-time coach in the women’s side. However, in March 2026, Harrigan accepted a new role within the club’s academy, and the women’s team on the search for a new head coach.

Ones to watch:

QPR forward Jess Leach is the club’s current top goal scorer so far this season, scoring eleven goals in twenty-one appearances in all competitions.

Last time these two sides met:

The Bees last faced QPR in the Capitol Women’s Cup, where the Bees progressed through to the next round after winning the penalty shootout 5-4 following a 2-2 draw at full-time.

The Bees started on the front foot despite difficult conditions and took the lead through a powerful long-range strike from Sandra Martins, but QPR responded midway through the first half with an equaliser from a corner.

Emma Roberts made several important saves to keep the scores level going into the break.

After half-time, QPR increased the pressure and eventually took the lead through a long-range effort, putting the Bees on the back foot.

However, a late red card for QPR shifted momentum, and deep into stoppage time Martins struck again from close range to make it 2–2.

In the penalty shootout, Roberts produced a crucial save to give the Bees the advantage, and after a tense sudden death finish, Sam Lanza calmly converted the winning penalty to seal progression.

Dan McKimm and his side will be aiming to secure all three points this Sunday as they look to climb back up to third and finish the season as strongly as possible.
