Five-star performance as the Bees stun Portishead Town 5–0 to progress to the third round of the Adobe Women’s FA Cup.
The tone was set early, with both sides hesitant to take the first blow.
It was the visitors who carved out the opening chance, their effort drifting wide of the post.
Moments later, Shamoy Campbell broke free for the Bees, finding space to get a shot away, but the goalkeeper gathered comfortably.
After a flurry of half-chances, the breakthrough finally came.
Millie Isherwood burst through on goal, facing the Portishead keeper one-on-one before calmly slotting the ball into the bottom-right corner.
Minutes later, the Bees doubled their advantage.
In a move strikingly similar to the opener, Isherwood again found herself through on goal and once more tucked it neatly into the bottom corner.
The Bees continued to pile on the pressure throughout the half, creating chance after chance but falling just short in the final moments.
At the other end, the backline stood firm, with Cheyenne Flynn and Rebekah Wozniak denying the visitors any real sight of goal.
As half-time approached, the Bees won a corner.
Isherwood stepped up and curled the ball into the heart of the box, where Aria Heil rose highest to power home a third, sending the Bees into the break in a commanding position.
Half-Time: London Bees 3–0 Portishead Town
The second half resumed at pace, and within two minutes captain Sam Lanza added a fourth, heading in a superb cross from Lilly Whitelock on the left flank.
A series of substitutions brought fresh legs for the Bees, with Betty Larkin and Aimee Durn entering the pitch, alongside Brionne Fowle who made her return from injury.
Portishead pushed forward in search of a lifeline. In the 72nd minute, a well-struck effort from distance crashed off the crossbar and bounced dangerously in front of goal before the Bees cleared their lines.
Shortly after, Emma Roberts replaced Tia Ginn between the sticks, while Sophie Davidson came on for Wozniak.
As the game entered the final ten minutes, the Bees delivered a superb cross from the right.
Larkin met it in the middle, took a composed touch, and fired home with power to add her name to the scoresheet and extend the lead to five.
When the final whistle blew, the Bees had sealed a dominant victory and secured their place in the next round of the FA Cup.
