The Bees bounced back against London rivals with a strong second half effort to take all three points at home.

 

It was clear from kick off that both teams were going to have to work hard to break down the opposition’s back line.

 

A corner, taken by Isherwood, was one of the first Bees attempts of the match but flew over the net and was cleared by QPR.

 

Ginn made her first of many critical saves, getting hands on any attempts on goal made by the visitors.

 

The Bees took their chances, taking every opportunity to threaten the QPR defence but we’re unsuccessful in the first half.

 

A shot from range by Hoare and an attempt by Campbell were both shut down, with Ginn doing her bit to keep the opposition at bay at the other end of the pitch soon after.

 

Despite the many attempts and chances in the first half, the scoresheet remained empty at the half time whistle.

The Bees set the tone early on in the second half, attacking from the off and pushing their way up the pitch.

 

Despite their attacking threat, the Bees received three consecutive corners that they were unsuccessful in converting to goals.

 

Whitelock was next to take her chance, making a rapid run on goal, battling away from the QPR challenges and shooting but going wide and smashing the post.

 

The first Bees substitution for the Bees came with Fowle making way for Burrows.

 

The Bees’ efforts were soon rewarded after a free kick just in the half was taken by Isherwood and found by Campbell who tapped the ball past the keeper.

 

Only five minutes later, a QPR handball was called by the referee and the Bees were given a penalty.

 

Isherwood stepped up to take the chance, slotting the ball comfortably in the bottom left of the net.

 

Three more substitutions followed with Martins, Wozniak and Larkin entering the pitch for Campbell, Isherwood and Whitelock.

 

The full-time whistle was blown and the Bees were back to winning ways.
