London Bees are delighted to announce the signing of Alex Penny!
The 21-year-old full-back joins The Bees from league opponents AFC Sudbury, where she has spent most of her career so far.
Alex spent five years with the Suffolk side, progressing through the academy before making her first-team debut.
She also featured for The Suds in both league fixtures against The Bees this season, most recently in the 0–0 draw at The Kings Marsh Stadium on January 4th.
“They’ve always been a really good side, and I’ve always had a focus on them,” Alex said when speaking about London Bees.
“Joining the Bees is a really good opportunity for me and I’m really looking forward to it.”
Speaking on Alex’s arrival, London Bees Head Coach Dan McKimm said:
“I’m delighted to bring Alex to the club.
She’s had two excellent games against us this year, and I’ve been watching her closely throughout the season.
Her quality on deliveries from wide areas suits our style really well, and she’s a tenacious defender which we need.
I’m looking forward to seeing what she can bring to us, but there’s also a lot of room for development too which is exciting”.
Welcome to the Bees Alex!
The deal is subject to the usual FA and League clearances.
