London Bees are delighted to announce the signing of midfielder Abbie Bensted ahead of the upcoming season!
The technically gifted midfielder returns to the Bees from FA Women’s National League Southern Premier Division side Real Bedford.
Abbie first joined the Bees during the 2023/24 season, making 13 appearances and scoring twice during her initial spell with the club before earning a move to fellow Southern Premier side Oxford United.
She then joined Real Bedford ahead of the 2024/25 campaign, where she enjoyed two highly productive seasons.
Across 50 appearances, Abbie scored an impressive 21 goals and registered 25 goal contributions, establishing herself as one of the league’s most effective attacking midfielders.
Known for her technical quality, creativity and eye for goal, Abbie returns to the Bees with valuable FA Women’s National League experience and will add both quality and attacking threat to the squad ahead of the new season.
Speaking on Abbie’s return to the club, London Bees Head Coach Dan McKimm said:
“I’m delighted to bring Abbie back to the club, she’s a really exciting player and someone who can make things happen in the final third.
She’s won this league before, scoring a shed load in the process, and has spent plenty of time at tier three, so it’s another player who can bring that experience we’ve been seeking to the table for the group.
I want to see her come in here now, grab the bull by the horns, and impart what she has to offer on those around her. I think she’s got the potential to be a key figure for us this season”.
Abbie commented on her return to the club by saying:
Welcome back to the Bees, Abbie!
This deal is subject to FA and League clearances.
