London Bees today (17th July) confirmed Sarah Quantrill as the first player on the retained list for the 2019/20 season.
The Bees goalkeeper is delighted to be remaining at The Hive for another season and is looking to excel once again following on from a brilliant 2018/19 campaign, which saw her pick up the players’ player of the season award.
She said “Yeah I’m excited, we have a new manager in for this season and the team is gelling together nicely. I hope it will be a good year!”
“Personally like always I want to do my best for the team, I have their backs and they have mine. We need to work together.”
“It’s great to have Lee (Burch) in as manager, he has done it at the highest level, so it can’t be anything but good for the club to have him here.”
The Bees kick off their FA Women’s Championship season with a London derby against London City Lionesses (August 18th) and the Bees keeper cannot wait for the opening whistle to kick start the season.
“It’s obviously a massive game, they are the team that everyone wants to beat, it’ll be a tough match for sure. No one likes pre-season, so I just cannot wait for it all to start!”
