A tough afternoon for the girls Sian, what did you make of it?
“We were not good enough overall. We did not put into place the passages of play that we know we are good at.
“We have made individual errors on and off the ball which led to goals and that is something we have got to take on the chin.
“The girls are disappointed and you could see that when they came off the pitch, but we know we are better than that and we need to make sure we are ready for the tough run of games that we have ahead of us.”
There were some positives from today, with a debut for Stef Paci and a brilliant goal from Flo Gamby. What are we going to take out of this match going into the next few?
“It was great to get Stef in the team because you could see the quality she has on the ball.
“She adds something extra to our midfield and I am so pleased to have her over the line.
“Flo’s goal was a great finish, but it is just a pity we did not create many more opportunities like that one.
“We know what we need to work on, and I am sure the group will be raring to go on Tuesday.”
Looking ahead we have Southampton and Ipswich coming up as our next two games who are both unbeaten. How are you feeling about those two?
“They are two very good sides with amazing set-ups. We went to Ipswich in the cup last week, so we know how tough they are.
“We are expecting difficult games, but all games in this league are going to be tough. You have got to go on and battle for absolutely everything and today we were lacking that a little bit.
“When you play against the biggest sides in the league, that motivates you to put in your best performance.
“I think the girls will be up for it, and the disappointment from today should lead to a good week in training.”
