London Bees:
London Bees showed grit and determination to come from behind and secure a 5–3 victory over Barking in the First Round Proper of the Adobe Women’s FA Cup.
The Bees started brightly, piling early pressure on Barking’s defence before Aimee Durn fired them into the lead with a powerful strike that the visiting keeper couldn’t keep out.
Barking responded strongly, equalising on 31 minutes and then edging ahead just six minutes later to make it 2–1.
As half-time approached, the Bees pushed for a response, and Lanza levelled the score after a goalmouth scramble following Whitelock’s effort, sending the sides in at 2–2.
A change in goal saw Ginn replace Roberts for the second half, but it was Barking who struck first again, restoring their lead in the 52nd minute.
The Bees refused to give up, and Isherwood soon made it 3–3 with a composed finish after a driving run through the Barking defence.
In the 81st minute, Fowle pounced when the Barking keeper spilled a save, bundling the ball over the line to put the Bees ahead.
Just three minutes later, Isherwood grabbed her second goal in similar fashion after another goalkeeper error to make it 5–3.
