London Bees are delighted to announce the signing of midfielder Rubie Smith ahead of the 2026/27 season.
Rubie joins the Bees from FA Women’s National League Southern Premier Division side Real Bedford.
A technically gifted midfielder, Rubie began her career in the academy at Watford, progressing through the ranks to earn some senior appearances for the first team.
She made the move to Real Bedford before spending time on loan at Eastern Region Women’s Football League side Stevenage.
Although her season with the Boro was disrupted by injury, Rubie played an important role in helping the Hertfordshire club secure the league title and earn promotion to the FA Women’s National League South East Division.
Rubie reunites with former Real Bedford teammate Abbie Bensted at the Bees, alongside several familiar faces, as Dan McKimm continues to strengthen his squad ahead of the new campaign.
London Bees Head Coach Dan McKimm spoke on Rubie’s arrival by saying:
“Rubie’s a great addition to the squad, she brings yet more experience of higher levels and a real winning mentality.
Her energy is brilliant and she’s already been driving the intensity in training.
I think she could be a really good role model for others in the group because of her personality, and she’ll give us good quality on the ball in deeper areas to complement what we’ve got in the group at the top of the pitch”.
Rubie expressed her excitement of joining the Bees by saying:
“I’m buzzing to be here and I can’t wait to get going, this club is very local to me as well and yeah I’m just really excited to get started.
I know a lot of the girls here already which is great, they all have the same desire as me which is to win as much as possible and the way they play here suits me well so yeah that’s what really excites me”.
Welcome to the Bees, Rubie!
This deal is subject to FA and League clearances.
