The Bees host AFC Sudbury at The Bees Stadium this Sunday for a 2pm kick off in the Division One South East League.

London Bees:

London Bees fell to a narrow 2-1 defeat against Dulwich Hamlet in their opening League Cup fixture, despite a promising start.

The Bees took an early lead just seven minutes in, as Betty Larkin finished off a slick move that began with a pinpoint long ball from Tia Ginn and a precise cross from Layla Kenly.

Despite chances to extend their lead, including efforts from Cheyenne Flynn and returning striker Millie Isherwood.

At the other end, the Bees’ defence held firm under pressure, with Tia Ginn quick off her line to deal with Dulwich’s direct approach, the Bees went into half-time 1-0 up.

Dulwich responded quickly after the break, levelling the score within five minutes through a strong solo effort.

The visitors grew in confidence and turned the game around midway through the second half, netting a second just after the Bees made a series of substitutions.

London Bees pressed for an equaliser late on but couldn’t convert their chances as the match ended in disappointment.

London Bees earned a 3–0 win last time out against AFC Sudbury, with a strong performance nearing the end of the previous season.

After a balanced opening, the Bees began to take control, with Rebekha Wozniak testing the keeper from distance.

The breakthrough came in the 23rd minute when Shamoy Campbell delivered a well-placed cross into the box, met by Sam Lanza who calmly slotted it into the bottom corner.

Lanza doubled the lead just eight minutes later, showing composure to dribble around the goalkeeper before finishing to make it 2–0 by the half-hour mark.

Campbell and Millie Isherwood both went close to adding a third before the break, with Isherwood hitting the crossbar.

In the second half, the Bees remained on the front foot.

Isherwood was determined to get her goal, striking the bar again before finally converting in the 80th minute after a low cross from Lanza.

It was a well-rounded team display from Dan McKimm’s side, who kept a clean sheet and claimed another three valuable points.

The Bees will be looking to bounce back from Thursday nights League Cup defeat and get their first three points at home in the Division One South East League.
