The Bees take the trip across London this weekend as they head down to Champion Hill to take on league opponents Dulwich Hamlet for a 2pm clash in the FAWNL Division One South East.

London Bees:

London Bees delivered a statement performance with a resounding 10–1 victory over Colchester United, securing their place in the first-round proper of the Adobe FA Cup.

The Bees dominated from the outset, with early pressure paying off despite an offside ruling against Lanza.

Isherwood opened the scoring shortly after, finishing a neat pass from Whitelock.

Goals from Heil and another quickfire double from Isherwood, completing her hat-trick inside 20 minutes, gave the Bees a commanding lead.

Colchester briefly responded with a goal past debutant goalkeeper Roberts, but the Bees remained in control.

Isherwood added her fourth from the penalty spot after Durn was brought down, sending the Bees into halftime 5–1 up.

The second half saw no let-up.

Whitelock smashed home from outside the box just two minutes after the restart.

Durn then added two of her own capitalising on defensive errors, before Whitelock struck again with another powerful effort from range.

Substitute Larkin rounded off the scoring in the final stages, calmly finishing inside the box to make it ten.

Roberts impressed on her debut, making a series of solid saves to deny further Colchester chances, while the Bees showed attacking flair and ruthless finishing throughout.

Dulwich Hamlet:

Dulwich Hamlet Women, formed in 2019 after merging with AFC Phoenix, continue to build on strong foundations.

Having won the London & South East Regional Women’s League in 2023‑24, they were promoted to the Women’s National League Division One South East.

Off the field the support for the club continues to grow with an average attendance in 2023‑24 sat at around 477, and a record crowd of 1,142 was recorded in April 2024 for the match vs Enfield Town.

In their most recent fixture, The Hamlets beat Leatherhead at Fetcham Grove in their Adobe Women’s FA Cup fixture.

Jordyn Galway opened the scoring in the first half, netting her first goal for the club after a well-worked move.

Hamlet stayed in control for most of the game, creating chances and keeping things tight at the back.

With time running out, Jessica Francis-Weir wrapped things up in style, cutting in from the left and curling a brilliant finish into the far corner to seal the win.

In the opposition dugout:

Dulwich Hamlet head coach Maria Tavares will be in the dugout for the hosts this Sunday with her assistant Leikam Ching alongside.

Maria was appointed as head coach back in June 2025, and she previously held coaching roles at Arsenal Women’s Academy, SOAS University of London, and Stonewall FC.

The hamlets currently sit 8th in the Division Ones South East table, picking up two wins and three losses in their opening five league fixtures.

Ones to watch:

Hamlet midfielders Jessica Francis-Weir and Natalie Taylor are the current top goal scorers for the hosts, both scoring twice so far this season.

Last time these two sides met:

Back in August, the London Bees began their League Cup campaign with a 2-1 loss at home to Dulwich Hamlet.

The Bees started well, taking the lead early through Betty Larkin, who finished calmly after a great cross from Layla Kenly.

Millie Isherwood also made her first start since last season, testing the Hamlet keeper with a powerful shot in the first half.

Dulwich fought back shortly after the break, scoring a well-worked goal to level the match.

Despite some changes from manager Dan McKimm to try and turn things around, Dulwich scored again soon after to take the lead.

The Bees pushed hard in the final stages, creating a few chances, but were unable to find the equaliser.

The Bees will be looking to build on the momentum from last Sunday’s FA Cup win as they turn their focus back to the league and aim to take all three points on the road.
