Match Report | Chatham Town 4-0 London Bees

London Bees suffered defeat on the road this afternoon following a 4-0 loss at Chatham Town Women. The result leaves the Bees awaiting our first three points in the league campaign.

The Bees started the game like we finished our last with lots of possession and creating chances, none were able to test the Chatham Town keeper Eligon.

After a closely fought competition to begin the game, the hosts opened the scoring after half an hour when Grace Coombs found the back of the net from close-range. Coombs followed up on a loose ball after Bees goalkeeper Tia Ginn made a great initial save to deny an earlier effort.

Both sides had chances later in the first half but failed to score, with the Bees’ best effort being a shot on target from range by striker Millie Isherwood.

Half Time 1-0

Chatham Town began the second half strongly, and they got their reward when Otesha Charles was able to find the back of the net from inside the box, giving the hosts a two-goal cushion.

All hopes of another late surge from the Bees were dying out when with 20 minutes to go, Madison Woodgate got her foot onto the ball from in the box again to extend the hosts lead to three goals.

Five minutes later and substitute Otesha Charles got her second of the afternoon and Chatham’s fourth when her strong header from inside the box was able to beat Ginn and find the back of the net.

The Bees were unable to make the possession count as Chatham held onto their four-goal cushion to register another three points on the board.
