Chatham hit six past the Bees at The Bauvill Stadium
The hosts started the game on the front foot, winning an early corner that resulted in a shot on goal, but Bees goalkeeper Tia Ginn reacted well to get down low and make an early save.
Ginn was soon called into action again, rushing out quickly to close down space and force the Chats attacker into an off target effort.
The Bees looked to push up the pitch at times and apply pressure, though the hosts remained well organised defensively.
Chatham then attempted an ambitious long-range effort from just outside the centre circle in an effort to catch Ginn off guard, but the ball sailed over the bar.
Minutes later, Bees No.9 Millie Isherwood found herself through on goal and calmly slotted the ball into the net, only for the referee to pull play back for offside.
Around the half-hour mark, Sandra Martins produced a brilliant strike towards goal, aiming to catch the Chatham keeper off her line, but the effort was pushed wide for a corner.
As half-time approached, Ginn once again denied the hosts, rushing out to intercept another dangerous attack.
However, Chatham’s pressure eventually told, as a late free kick in normal time found its way into the box and was tapped past Ginn to give the hosts a 1–0 lead at the break.
Half-Time: Chatham Town 1–0 London Bees
The Bees came out strongly in the second half and nearly levelled the score when Cheyenne Flynn made good contact from a corner, but the Chatham keeper was able to catch the attempt.
Soon after, the hosts doubled their lead following a breakthrough that resulted in a well taken goal.
The Bees responded quickly as shortly after the restart, Isherwood was played through one-on-one with the keeper and showed great composure to place the ball into the bottom right corner, pulling a goal back for the visitors.
However, the game took a turn as within the space of ten minutes, Chatham struck three times to extend their lead to 5–1 shortly after the hour mark.
The first came from a through ball that created another one-on-one, the second followed a potential foul but the game carried on to create the goal and the third once again came from a one-on-one opportunity that the hosts converted.
Ryah Vyse, Sophie Davidson and Isabel Doolan were introduced in an attempt to add fresh energy to the side but on the 80th minute, Chatham added a sixth goal to their tally.
The Bees created a couple of chances late on, but the outcome was already decided as the referee blew the full-time whistle.
