London Bees bow out of the Adobe Women’s FA Cup as they suffer a 6-0 defeat at home to WSL side Liverpool.
The tone of the match was set early as WSL side Liverpool dominated possession.
The Bees’ defence was tested from early on and Liverpool were able to get two past Ginn in less than 15 minutes.
Flynn prevented a Liverpool attack with a header in the box after a corner with Lanza following suit soon after.
Ginn also played her part in keeping Liverpool at bay, making multiple impressive saves.
Whitelock and Martins joined forces, seizing an opportunity to make an attacking sprint up the right hand side but were intercepted by the Liverpool defence.
Liverpool scored their third in the 33rd minute after they make a cross into the box that was knocked in from the front post.
Half Time: London Bees 0 – 3 Liverpool
The second half begun with two substitutes for the Bees as Isherwood and Vigo came onto the pitch for Martins and Fowle.
Within 3 minutes of the whistle blowing, Liverpool managed to get the ball into the goal once again but the offside flag was raised.
Substitute Isherwood had a chance with a corner for the Bees but Liverpool were able to deal with it and regain possession.
It was Liverpool’s turn for a corner next that they managed to send into the back of the net for their fourth of the match.
Making a run down the middle, Isherwood took her chance and shot but was blocked by the visitors.
Larkin came on in place of Captain Lanza next, who passed the armband over to Flynn.
As the final minutes approached, Liverpool had another chance as a powerful shot hit the post.
The visitors managed to bag another two goals in the 86th and 88th minute before a change was made between the sticks – Roberts on for Ginn.
The full time whistle blew, leaving the Bees 6 goals behind after a tough test.
