The Bees marched through into the Adobe Women’s FA Cup Fourth Round with a thrilling win over QPR at the Hive.

The opening minute was a sign of things to come when Isherwood bagged the opener. Burrows dispossessing the opposition in the midfield before playing a well-placed pass to Isherwood who placing the ball under Melling in the QPR goal.

QPR responded almost immediately when Ward-Chambers reacted quickest to a cross in the box before being able to place the ball past Ginn to grab the equaliser. The QPR player came close again just two minutes later, but the Bees were able to see this shot behind for a goal kick.

In an energetic opening 10 minutes it was QPR who took the lead after 8 minutes when Goddard jumped highest at the back post from a corner to give Rangers the turnaround lead.

The Bees were looking for a way back in this game but were unable to find a way past Melling for the rest of the first half.

QPR were also pushing when a great chance fell to Ward-Chambers on the edge of the box, but she wasn’t able to direct her shot goalwards.

The visitors were reduced to ten when Blodgett was shown a second yellow card for a foul on Durn on the stroke of half time.

Half Time 1-2

The first chance of the half fell to the Bees when Whitelock’s cross narrowly evaded the boot of Isherwood as the ball bounced wide of the post.

Wozniak tried her luck from range, her left-footed effort swooping towards goal but was well tipped over by Melling for a Bees corner.

Hoteit was next to have a go from range, her right-footed effort hitting the target but unable to test Melling in the Rangers net.

Hoteit again was causing problems for the Rangers keeper when her second shot from range beat Melling but smashed against the crossbar leaving 10-man Rangers hanging on by a thread.

The second half pressure from the Bees finally paid off when Isherwood got on the end of a fantastic cross from the right-hand side before placing the ball home for her second goal of the afternoon.

Durn was next to shoot at goal, her left-footed shot from outside the box was well held by the QPR keeper.

With the scores level after 90 minutes the game went to extra time.

Full Time 2-2

The Bees had the first chance in extra time when Hoare took on a shot from the edge of the box, the ball bouncing towards goal but the keeper got down low to deny her.

Despite all the Bees pressure it was the visitors who struck first in extra time Stanley getting on the end of a long ball from Rangers’ own half before placing the ball under Ginn and into the net.

The lead was to last just two minutes as Isherwood was able to get on a Hoare cross to tap the ball home to grab her hat-trick, bringing the Bees level.

The game was turned on it’s head again when Whitelock grabbed the Bees’ fourth, she got on the end of another cross from the right-hand side.

The crosses from the right-hand side were proving to be dangerous from the Bees and the fifth goal fell to Isherwood as she grabbed her fourth from the same set up of play, giving the Bees a two-goal cushion with 8 minutes to play in extra time.

Hoare got the pick of the bunch as she rounded off the scoring right at the end. Her free-kick from range beat the keeper and flew into the top-left hand corner.
