Seven different scorers were on the scoresheet as London Bees produced a dominant performance to secure a 7–1 victory over Chesham United at The Bees Stadium.
From the opening whistle, the Bees looked the more determined side, applying early pressure in search of an opening goal.
The first real chance came when Sandra Martins delivered a superb cross from the right, forcing the Chesham goalkeeper into an acrobatic save.
The ball fell to Lily Whitelock, but her close-range effort struck the post.
Whitelock and Martins both tested the keeper again shortly after, with the Chesham goalkeeper doing well to deny them.
However, the breakthrough arrived minutes later when Aimee Durn struck across goal, placing the ball perfectly into the bottom right corner to give the Bees a deserved lead.
The Bees continued to take control, with Whitelock again going close from the right flank, only to see her effort rebound off the post for the second time.
On 25 minutes, Millie Isherwood curled in a corner that found Sam Lanza at the back post.
Lanza headed the ball back into the danger area, where Martins rose highest to nod home and double the Bees’ advantage.
Chesham were given a chance to respond when they were awarded a penalty following a foul in the box.
However, Bees goalkeeper Tia Ginn produced a superb save from the spot to preserve both the lead and the clean sheet.
After added time, the Bees went into the break firmly in control.
Half-time: London Bees 2–0 Chesham United
The second half followed a similar pattern, with the Bees dictating play and pushing for more goals.
Around ten minutes after the restart, the Bees won a free-kick just outside the box.
Isherwood stepped up and struck a powerful effort that narrowly missed, hitting the side netting.
Whitelock remained a constant threat and showed great footwork to beat two defenders on the left before driving into the box, but once again the goalkeeper came out on top.
Her persistence soon paid off, though as Isherwood threaded a perfectly weighted pass through to Martins on the right, who delivered a low cross into the box.
Whitelock found space and calmly slotted the ball past the keeper to make it 3–0.
The Bees then struck three times in a quick fire seven-minute spell.
First, Lanza headed in at the back post from a corner.
Moments later, another corner caused chaos in the box, and Cheyenne Flynn was on hand to tap home, with the referee awarding the goal after consulting the assistant despite Chesham’s appeals for a clearance off the line.
The third of the quick fire goals was the pick of the bunch as Hayley Hoare cut in from the left and, without hesitation, unleashed a stunning strike that sailed over the defence and goalkeeper to make it 6–0.
With the game well under control, the Bees made several substitutions to introduce fresh legs, as Betty Larkin, Brionne Fowle, Sophie Davidson and Emma Roberts all entered the fray.
Chesham managed a consolation goal late on with a curling effort from outside the box.
In stoppage time, Larkin added a seventh, firing home at the near post after connecting with a corner.
The referee blew for full-time shortly after, capping off a dominant performance and an emphatic 7–1 win for the London Bees.
