The Bees kept their winning form rolling from Thursday as they beat Queens Park Rangers 3-1 at the Skyrex Community Stadium in the Division One South East League.

As the game got underway, the Bees started to show dominance, firmly holding onto possession within the opening moments.

However, the hosts weren’t letting themselves fall back too quickly, as the R’s maintained a strong backline, not making it easy for the attacking Bees.

The first real chance of the game came when QPR were able to charge into the Bees’ half of the pitch, making their way towards the attacking area.

But before they could take a good shot on target, the Bees’ defence of Rebekha Wozniak and Aria Heil held their ground and stopped the attack from going further.

Millie Isherwood claimed the first chance on goal when Aimee Durn delivered a dangerous ball into the path of the striker, who couldn’t quite connect well enough with the ball, as the shot ended up falling just wide of the right-side post.

The first goal of the game came in the 24th minute, as QPR forward Grace Stanley found herself with space in the box to turn the defence and whip the ball into the top left corner, giving the hosts the lead.

The lead didn’t last long as the ball fell on the edge of the right side of the box, finding the feet of Shamoy Campbell.

Delivering it towards goal, Campbell guided the ball with enough height and power to fly out of the goalkeeper’s reach and hit the top right corner, bringing the score back level.

Half-time was only minutes away, and the Bees found themselves with an opportunity to take the lead, with Shamoy Campbell crossing the ball perfectly to Millie Isherwood, who struck the ball on target, but it was saved by the R’s goalkeeper Nicole Melling, keeping the score level at the break.

Half-Time 1-1

The Bees kept up their strong first-half performance, which showed just two minutes in as Lily Whitelock sprinted down the left, finding Millie Isherwood in space, who fired the ball from the edge of the box past the goalkeeper, gifting the Bees an early lead in the half.

Throughout the half, the performances from the Bees didn’t drop, as Dan McKimm’s side were searching for a way to extend their lead while refusing to let their one-goal advantage slip.

With less than ten minutes of regular time remaining, the ball found its way into the R’s box. The keeper attempted to retrieve it, but it slipped from her grasp and landed at the feet of Sam Lanza, who tapped it in from a tight angle off the right post and into an empty net.

Lanza extended the Bees’ lead by two, and after a short bit of added time, Dan McKimm’s side were victorious, clinching another win away from home and adding three more points to the table.
