The Bees extended their unbeaten run with an impressive draw away to league leaders Real Bedford.

 

The first chance of the game fell to the Bees when a long ball forward was turned behind for a corner, the set-piece came to nothing in the end.

 

Gould had the hosts in front after 3 minutes when she received the ball on the edge of the box before going on an incredible run before rounding the ball past Ginn and into the Bees net.

 

Bedford’s lead lasted just 9 minutes when a corner was swung in for the Bees before a goal-mouth scramble on the edge of the six-yard box was calmly hit by Burrows and into the bottom left-hand corner to bring the Bees level.

 

Ginn was called into action shortly after when she denied the hosts with a shot from inside the box, getting down low to deny with her right boot.

 

Bedford came close once again when a cross from the right-hand side was received at the back post, but the close-range shot was once again kept out by Ginn.

 

Burrows came close to her second of the afternoon when a through ball found the number 11 who rounded the Bedford keeper but a strong recovery from the defence put in a crucial block to deny the Bees.

 

Hoare was next to have a go at goal, her shot from outside the box couldn’t find the power to trouble Sansom in the Bedford net.

 

Bedford rounded off the half with a chance for themselves, Mitchell’s low cross into the Bees box couldn’t find a teammate as it rolled out for a goal kick.

Durn launches the first shot of the half; her advancing run gave her room to shoot at goal, but her effort was pushed behind by Sansom.

 

Two teams on red hot form pushing for a famous winner, Bedford’s first chance of the half came to Bensted who turned to shoot on the edge of the box but her left-footed shot flew wide of the post.

 

Biggadike went for goal from range from a Bedford free kick, her effort failed to pick up the pace to put Ginn under pressure who calmly collected the ball.

 

A promising cross from the right-hand side fell to a Bedford forward in the box who hit the ball first time, but Ginn got down well to catch the ball.

 

A glorious chance fell to Gould when she got on the end of a teasing cross, her shot from close range skied over the crossbar and out for a goal-kick.

 

Bedford re-took the lead with 15 minutes to go when O’Leary jumped highest from a corner send a bouncing header into the bottom right-hand corner, giving the league leaders a dream lead with not much time left to play.

 

The Bees were seeing their chances of extending the unbeaten run fading, Durn’s cross came to Lanza who shot on the turn, but her effort bounced wide of the post.

 

The final chance fell to Affri who got on the end of a teasing cross from the left-hand side to rescue a last gasp point for the Bees who keep their unbeaten run going.
