Sian, we are finally back in league action this Sunday. How much are you looking forward to getting back to it?
“Yes we are really excited to get back into games after a small break.
“It is nice to have a reset because it has allowed us to have a good build up into Sunday’s game.”
We have had two weeks to prepare for this one, what has it been like in training?
“It has been really good and the morale in camp has been great.
“We have put a lot of work in on our playing style which is something that we have needed to improve on over the last few games.”
Since the new players have come in, what has the atmosphere been like around the camp?
“It has been really good because we have had time to socialise together in classrooms and get discussions going within the group around our style of play.
“The two new additions have been absolutely fantastic and it has been really exciting to work with them.
“Shayla and Jade are really hardworking individuals and have brought a really good attitude into training which has allowed them to fit in really well.”
What have you made of Jade Bell’s recent performances as she has been an influential player for us so far?
“We are really starting to see what Jade can bring to the team and she was fantastic in the first game.
“Obviously it was a disappointing result, but it was nice to see her get on the scoresheet and show us how she is going to fit in with the rest of the group.
“She is very versatile and we are pleased to have her in the team.”
Looking ahead to Sunday we travel to Plymouth Argyle. What sort of game are you expecting to see?
“It is going to be a really tough game because it is a very important fixture for both teams.
“We are coming off the back of two cup exits so it is key for us to go and give the best account of ourselves in this game.
“It is crucial that we take our opportunities when we create them.”
How important is the defence in games like this away from home?
“It is really important and it has been a very competitive part of our squad.
“We have had lots of change over through injuries and new signings that have come in.
“Over the last two weeks, we have seen some really good performances from our defenders in training.
“We are pleased to have Jess Burke back in the group and competing.”
The players have already shown character after bouncing back from defeat in previous games this season and there is no reason why we should not this weekend?
“Resilience is a key part in any team and is something we have discussed around the group.
“We have an important festive period coming up so we need to show the same character as we have done previously.”
