Sian, we came so close to three points tonight. How are you feeling after that?
“We are really gutted to lose those extra two points in the last minute and it is gut-wrenching for the players.
“You cannot fault the effort our players put in but we are disappointed that MK Dons have managed to get themselves a goal right at the end.”
It was a frustrating result on Sunday. Are you happy with how the team bounced back in the performance they gave?
“It is definitely something we have spoken about and the players showed desire to get into the box as well as defend.
“Jess Burke blocked one off the goal line and other players threw their bodies in front of shots which was good to see.
“Dan Puddefoot put in some good challenges and the recovery runs from Meg Wood have been absolutely fantastic tonight.
“We just did not have the quality on the ball that we have come to expect from our players.”
It was a quick turnaround from Sunday, how did that affect your preparations coming into today?
“It did not affect us much and the staff did a great job to get the players prepared the best as possible.
“A shorter turnaround means we have not had time to work on the specific opposition, but it is the same for every other team.”
Were you anticipating the game to be as fast paced as it was today?
“MK are on a great run and they have got some fantastic results recently.
“We expected them to come at us and they did just that.
“We knew that they would fight for everything because of where they currently sit it the table.
“Fair play to MK because they caused us lots of problems and we never really got going because of it.”
How pleased are you about Dan Carlton’s return to the pitch tonight?
“It is a massive moment for Dan, just disappointing that it came off the back of this result.
“It was a very long time in the making and she has worked very hard to come back.
“It has been over two years since she has been on a football pitch and she deserved that moment.
“We are so pleased to see her in and start building up those minutes.
“Dan is a great character to have in the team and we are looking forward to see what she can do in a Bees shirt.”
It is eleven days until we play again as Portsmouth come to The Hive London in the league. What are you expecting from that one?
“It will be another difficult game and we know the quality they have.
“Our remaining fixtures will be tough and we will have to be at our best to get anything from them.
“We have got eleven days with a number of training sessions between then and now which will be useful.
“We have to make the most of it and be ready to go because Portsmouth will be tough opposition.”
