London Bees are delighted to announce that Thea Budden has joined the Bees for the 2025/26 season!
The midfielder joins The Bees after most recently representing the Seattle Reign Academy in Seattle, Washington USA.
Throughout her football journey, Thea has gained valuable experience training with both the Chelsea and Arsenal academies.
Having grown up primarily in the United States, she continued to develop her game, earning a place on her high school varsity team every year.
In 2023, Thea faced a setback after suffering a serious injury, but she made a strong return in the 2024–25 season, finishing the campaign with the most assists for her club.
Over the summer, she received a call-up to the WPSL Reign II side, where she competed at semi-professional level, an outstanding highlight in her career so far.
Speaking on her arrival, London Bees head coach Dan McKimm said:
“I’m excited to have Thea on board. She’s very mature for her age and I love the intensity and energy that she brings to the table.
I think she’s got a great physical profile too. When you take her age into account and the fact that there’s still room for further development, it’s very exciting in terms of the potential she has on this front.
It’s going to take a couple of weeks for her to settle in and adjust to our environment and how we play, but once she does, I think she’ll be a huge addition to the strength in depth we’re trying to build.”
Welcome to the Bees Thea!
The deal is subject to the usual FA and League clearances.
