London Bees eye new Development Centre to support the next generation of female footballers!

London Bees are delighted to announce the planned launch of the London Bees Development Centre, a new initiative designed to provide more high-quality opportunities for girls to develop their footballing ability, build confidence and enjoy the game in a positive, ambitious environment.

The Development Centre will cater for ages 8 to 18, offering a structured development pathway for young female footballers at different stages of their journey from the elite to the beginner.

Players will benefit from two sessions per week, with involvement from first team players and coaching staff, and with a programme designed to support their physical, social, technical and tactical development. The aim is to help every player improve their understanding of the game, develop their individual skills, build strong relationships with teammates and grow in confidence both on and off the pitch.

The Development Centre will welcome players from a variety of backgrounds and playing experiences. Girls who are already registered with other football clubs will be able to access additional training opportunities to complement their existing football, while players who are not currently part of a team will have the opportunity to develop their skills, meet new people and enjoy being part of the game.

A particular feature of the programme will be the pathway available to the U18 age group, where players who demonstrate the required ability and potential to progress will have opportunities to train with the London Bees first team, providing a valuable experience of senior football and a potential route towards the club’s senior squad.

London Bees 1st Team Head Coach, Dan McKimm, who’s side currently sit top of the Women’s National League Division One South East, the fourth tier of the game, had this to say:

“The launch of the London Bees Development Centre is a hugely positive step forward for the club. I believe that part of our responsibility at the higher end of the game is to contribute to the continued growth of women’s and girl’s football in this country, and this new centre will provide huge opportunities for girls within the local community to access well organised, high-quality coaching and support in a safe, enjoyable and player-centred environment, making use of the unbelievable facilities we have here at The Hive.”

The launch of the Development Centre represents an exciting step in London Bees’ commitment to growing the women’s and girls’ game, creating more opportunities for young players across the local community and helping to develop the next generation of female footballers.
