After a victory against Chatham Town, The Bees travelled to The Skyex Community Stadium to take on Queen’s Park Rangers. The Bees went into the game sitting top of the table with QPR only 2 places behind them.
From the first whistle, QPR created a chance within the first 2 minutes with a shot that skimmed over the crossbar and continued to apply pressure to The Bees defence as Amy Liddiard had to make 2 more saves. The first real chance for The Bees was from captain Hayley Hoare whose efforts were unfortunately met by the keeper’s gloves.
The first goal of the game was scored by QPR’s Taylor Bell who fired a close range finish that saw the hosts take the lead in the 16th minute. The Bees bounced back with a shot from Gemma Biggadike which went wide of the post but the ball spent the remainder of the first half being passed about in the box where Liddiard made a few saves. The R’s secured a last minute goal from the edge of the box and The Bees ended the first half 2-0 down.

The second half kicked off with manager Dan Mckimm making three substitutions with Ruby Mace, Fran Vigo and Shamoy Campbell coming on to add a different approach to the second half. The first few minutes of the second half saw the hosts testing Liddiard with three saves back to back but eventually The Bees gained possession where captain Sandra Martins got a shot on target but it wasn’t meant to be for The Bees.In the 52nd minute, Shamoy Campbell managed to get the ball past the keeper and into the back of the net but it was ruled offside and the Bees still remained goalless on the scoreline.
This saw the first loss for The Bees in the league but is just a blip in the road with Dan Mckimm emphasising how he “really does believe in this group” . The Bees are back at home with their next game on Sunday 8th November against Luton Town
