The Bees are back on Sunday as they face Luton Town at The Hive Stadium!!

London Bees:

The Bees faced their first loss of the league this season after their away game to QPR which ended 2-0 in the R’s favour. The hosts seemed to take on a more attacking approach after the first whistle, creating multiple chances and applying pressure to The Bees defence. However, even after a few shots from The Bees, the first half ended 2-0 to QPR.

The second half had a similar pattern of the R’s trying to secure another goal but were unsuccessful to score in the second half. Shamoy Campbell  managed to get the ball past the keeper and into the back of the net but it was ruled offside meaning The Bees remained goalless and took the loss on the road.

Luton Town:

After being formed in 1997 as the Luton town Belles, they rebranded as  the Luton Town Ladies in association with Luton Town in 2006. The Luton Town Ladies have 3 decades worth of history including FA Cup and FA Women’s Premier League Plate runs where they made it to the final and 4th round respectively. Originally starting out training with the U10s AFC Luton boys, they eventually started to work up a squad ranging from U12s-U15s before creating a senior team and entering the Southern Regional League in 2001. They reached National League status before the original target of 2012.

Over the years they built promotions from regional competitions to South West Combinations until a restructured move to the South East Combinations where they worked their way to the National League Division One south east.

Luton Town ladies saw another loss on Sunday facing Torquay United in the FA Women’s National League Plate. Torquay scored in the 20th minute, despite Luton Town having an attacking start. The celebrations were extended 2 minutes later when Luton conceded a second goal and, similar to The Bees, went into the second half 2-0 down.

Heading into the second half, a much more dominant display from Luton as they continued to attack and put pressure on the Torquay keeper but unfortunately the game ended in a 2-0 loss and they headed home without points.
