The Bees exited the WNL Cup after defeat at Plymouth Argyle on Sunday afternoon at Home Park Stadium.
Bees started the game brightly and looked to take an early lead through Millie Isherwood. Isherwood found the back of the net in the opening stages, but the linesman raised his flag to deny the visitors.
Millie Constantine registered the first shot on goal after three minutes when Millie Constantine forced Lily Felgate into making an early smart stop.
The hosts responded minutes later with a shot of their own. Ellie Sara shooting from the edge of the box but Tia Ginn stood big to make the save.
After ten minutes Plymouth was growing into the contest and came close again when Charlotte Whitmore took a left-footed shot on from just inside the box, she saw her effort deflected just wide of the left-hand post.
Three minutes later and the hosts took the lead. Georgia Wilson with an incredible shot from outside the box who found the top corner.
Argyle came close to doubling their lead when Wilson went searching for her double in a matter of minutes but her shot from inside the box flew just over the crossbar.
The Bees were not going down without a fight and came close to levelling the game up when Mira Hoteit got on the end of a loose ball in the box, her shot at goal flew inches over the bar.
Tia Ginn was called into action on the half hour mark when Ellie Sara found space in the penalty box to shoot but Ginn was on hand to make a great stop.
Plymouth was able to double their lead six minutes later when Charlotte Whitmore’s shot from the left-hand side of the box found its way into the back of the net.
Argyle had a spring in their step and made it three when Georgia Wilson got her second of the afternoon. She managed to get on the end of a loose ball to lob the ball past an outstretched Ginn.
The hosts were looking to further extend their lead when Whitmore forced Ginn into making a good save down to her right-hand side.
Ginn was on call again this time to deny Sara from the edge of the box.
In a much improved second half from the Bees Sam Lanza was hoping to narrow the deficit when she tried her luck from the edge of the box, Felgate was on hand to make the stop.
The Bees came close to getting one back late on when Hayley Hoare got on the end of a cross to plant a header at goal, her effort flying just wide of the left-hand post.
