London Bees:
Cup action returns this weekend as the London Bees host Northern Premier
Division side Rugby Borough in the fourth round of the Adobe Women’s FA Cup.
Last time in the competition the Bees grabbed an outstanding 6-3 win in extra
time at home against league opposition Queens Park Rangers. The game
finished 2-2 at full time, which added an extra 30 mins to the game. Although
the Bees conceded in the 96th minute, Dan McKimm and his side used the time
to their full advantage, securing an extra four goals before full time, grabbing
the win and a place in the next round.

The Bees will be looking to push back after they suffered a 2-1 loss at home to
now 1st place Chatham Town in the Division One South East League. Chatham
took the lead very early on in the game as Bees keeper Tia Ginn struggled to
clear the ball from the box, leading to forward Lottie Sharp opening the scoring
within the 1st minute on the game. Throughout the game the Bees continued to
create chances to get inside Chatham’s box, but goalkeeper Simone Eligon was
helping to keep her side ahead. The visitors then doubled their lead early again
within the second half after forward Amelia Woodgate headed in the ball from a
corner in the 50th minute. At the closing stages of the game, Bees midfielder
Chloe Tambula scored our first goal of 2025. With a header in the 90+5th minute
from a corner to take one back for the home side and leave the visitors without
a clean sheet.

Rugby Borough:
Rugby Borough are yet to play so far into 2025, as their last schedule fixture on
the 5th on January against Sporting Khalsa in the Northern Premier Division was
postponed due to bad weather at the time. The visitors progressed to the fourth
round of the competition through a 3-0 victory at home to Mancunian Unity
Women FC. The hosts opened the scoring in the 27th minute through midfielder
Alanta Brown before sealing the win late in the second half with goals from
Kelis Barton and Yasmin Mosby. Rugby Borough currently sit 5th in the Northern
Premier Division and despite last playing in mid-December the club have scored
a combined total of 40 goals in their last 5 games in all competitions. With their
last game ending 15-0 in the Women’s Challenge Cup against Knowle Ladies.
Dan McKimm and the Bees will be put to the test this Sunday (2pm) against a
top scoring side, but having played more recently than the visitors, the hosts
will be heading into this fixture fully prepared.

In the opposite dugout:
Lee Burch takes the seat in the away dugout as manager of Rugby Borough with
Sian Osmond as his assistant. Burch has been in charge of the club since the
summer of 2022, back when the club was formally known as Coventry United.
After the club got relegated from the Women’s Championship at the end of the
2022/23 season, they announced that would be relocating and rebranding as
Rugby Borough FC. Since then, Lee Bruch and his side have been competing in
the Northern Premier Division in the aim of going forward as a new club and
returning to the Championship.
Ones to watch:
Rugby Borough forward Yasmin Mosby is the club’s top scorer in the league so
far this season having scored fourteen goals in the last fourteen games in the
league. She was also one of the players to score a hat-trick in the clubs recent
15-0 win against Knowle Ladies in the Women’s Challenge Cup.

Last time these two sides met:
These two sides last met back on the 21st of April 2024 in the Southern Premier
Division, which ended in a 5-0 home defeat for the Bees at the hands of our
visitors. This was during an unfortunate season for the Bees as they finished
bottom of the league with only three points. Since then, Dan McKimm and his
team have been on an incredible uprise, making themselves known in this
season in the league and the FA Cup competition. With the aim of progressing
even further in the cup as well as climb back up to the league above.
