The Bees finished the season strong with a massive 6-2 away win at Chesham United in the Division One South East League.
From the get-go, the Bees were showing they meant business, taking hold of the ball in the early minutes looking to take the lead.
However, it was the hosts that struck first, when a shot from outside the box curled into the top left corner, beyond the reach of Bees keeper Tia Ginn.
Despite the early setback, that didn’t stop the Bees on the charge, as Lily Whitelock brought the game back to 1-1, after receiving the ball following some great forward play by Sam Lanza.
Minutes later the Bees had their second of the match, when Aria Heil launched the ball from the far-right side of the pitch looking for a target in the centre, but it carried enough height and power to fall perfectly in the top left corner.
The Bees pushed on, with three goals in just 20 minutes, you could tell this was going to be a goal fest.
With half time looming, Sam Lanza added her name to the scoresheet, producing a brilliant volley inside the box, after connecting with the ball from a Hayley Hoare free kick.
Half-Time: Chesham United 1-3 London Bees
As the second half kicked off, the Bees picked up straight where they left off.
As just minutes into the half, Hayley Hoare added the fourth of the game, taking a strike outside the box on the left, curling the ball towards goal and placing it into the bottom right corner.
Another goal came just moments later, as Chesham United added one back through star striker Gemma Fraser, who took the ball around the goalkeeper and tapping the ball into the net.
With the lots of goals throughout the game, the Bees were still maintaining control of the game, dominating the possession and refusing the let more past the back line.
Hoare grabbed her second of the game in the 74th minute, after Bees captain Aimee Durn played through a brilliant ball to allow Hoare to knock the ball around the keeper, extending the Bees lead once again.
Bees’ manager Dan McKimm brought on some fresh legs in the later stages of the second half, with the long-awaited return of Cheyenne Flynn making her way onto the field, after being out of action for months through injury.
As the game entered the final moments, Whitelock ran through and chipped the ball over the keeper and putting it in the back of the net, but the referee ruled it out for offside.
However, minutes later Whitelock was through again on goal, this time curling the ball around the keeper and into the back of the net, grabbing her second and the Bees sixth goal of the game.
After a few minutes of added time, the referee blew the full-time whistle, the Bees finished the game with a 6-2 win to Chesham United and finished the season 4th in the league.
