The Bees fell to a narrow home defeat to the hands of Real Beford despite a late comeback surge.

Bees started the game strongly and came close after seven minutes when Lee’s attempt from inside the box went just over the bar.

Just after the 20-minute mark the visitors took the lead when Meola latched onto a loose ball before placing the ball into the back of the net.

Two minutes later and Real Bedford doubled their advantage when Bensted found the top corner with a fantastic effort from the restart.

On the 35th minute Bedford made it three when Meola punched onto the end of a cross to slot the ball home.

Half Time 0-3

An early chance into the second period fell to the Bees when a teasing corner onto the edge of the six-yard box was well cleared away by the Real Bedford defence.

The Bees came out the second half fighting and got the reward when a goal back was clawed from an effort from inside the box.

With the bees making three substitutions and time running out, all hope of a comeback looked to be fading but substitute Constatine popped up with the Bees second to bring the game back to 3-2.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t to be another comeback for the Bees who fell to a narrow defeat.
