London Bees are delighted to announce the signing of defender Niamh Cashin who joins the club for the upcoming 2026/27 season!

The defender brings a wealth of experience to the Club, having featured in the WSL, having a scholarship at Rider University and representing England at international youth level.

Cashin started her senior career at Notts County, making her debut in the WSL against Chelsea in 2026.

She then later signed for Sheffield FC, who competed in the WSL 2 in September 2017, making her debut appearance against Liverpool and Sunderland in the Continental Cup.

During the 2017/18 season, she started 10 matches and scored her first league goal for the club against Millwall.

At international level, Cashin represented the English Schools’ Football Association (ESFA) Under-15 girls’ team on two occasions, winning the Bob Docherty International Cup in 2014 before captaining the side in 2015.

She also progressed through England’s youth pathway, representing the national team at Under 15 and Under 17 level, earning selection for the England Under 18 squad, and receiving a call up to the Lionesses Under 19 training camp in August 2018.

Niamh moved to the United States in 2018 to play football at Rider University, where she established herself as one of the MAAC’s standout defenders.

Despite missing part of her freshman season through injury and England Under 19 international duty, she earned MAAC All Rookie Team honours after scoring the winning goal on her first start.

Over the next three seasons, Niamh became a mainstay in Rider’s defence, earning All-MAAC First Team honours in 2019 and All MAAC Second Team recognition in 2021.

She started every match she played during her final two seasons, played virtually every minute on the pitch, and helped lead one of the conference’s strongest defensive units.

Alongside her on field success, Niamh was named to the MAAC All-Academic Team on three consecutive occasions, capping off an outstanding collegiate career both athletically and academically.

Speaking our newest signing, London Bees Head Coach Dan McKimm said:

“Niamh is great addition for us and adds further strength to our back line.

She’s a front foot defender, nice and aggressive and she can handle the ball as well.

I’m hoping her time in WSL environments and from playing out in America will further top up the higher-level experience that’s been a target for us to recruit this summer”.

Nimah also spoke on her arrival to the Club saying:

“I’m buzzing to be here and I can’t wait to get started, it’s a brand new challenge for me and yeah just can’t wait to get started.

Having spoken with Dan after being around some of the girls here already, their ambition of where they want to be this season and what they want to do is something that I can relate to and it’s something I want to be apart of”.

Welcome to the Bees, Niamh!

This deal is subject to the usual FA and League clearances.
