The London Bees bounced back from Thursday night’s defeat in style, securing a hard-fought 1–0 victory over league rivals Luton Town.
The visitors started brightly, controlling possession in the opening minutes and setting the tempo early on.
Shamoy Campbell was the first to threaten, driving in from the right flank and cutting through the Luton defence before being brought down just outside the box, earning a promising free kick.
Rebekah Wozniak returned to the starting lineup following injury and played a crucial role in a disciplined Bees back line that limited Luton’s chances throughout the match.
Campbell continued to cause problems on the wing, curling in a dangerous cross towards the back post that narrowly evaded Hannah Fowle and drifted out for a goal kick.
Midway through the first half, goalkeeper Tia Ginn produced a superb save to deny Luton from close range, immediately sparking a Bees counterattack.
Moments later, Millie Isherwood was fouled in the opposition half, giving her side a set-piece opportunity.
Isherwood stepped up and unleashed a stunning strike, lifting the ball over the goalkeeper and into the top corner to give the Bees a deserved 1–0 lead.
Just before the break, Sam Lanza came inches away from doubling the advantage when her powerful effort struck the post and went wide.
Half-Time: Luton Town 0–1 London Bees
The Bees carried their momentum into the second half, with Campbell once again finding space to deliver another teasing cross, this time looking for Isherwood or Thea Budden, only for a Luton defender to intercept.
Daisy Hind tried her luck from distance, but her shot was comfortably gathered by the goalkeeper. At the other end, Ginn was called into action again just after the hour mark, tipping a dangerous Luton free kick over the bar to preserve the lead.
Manager Dan McKimm made several substitutions, including the return of Sandra Martins, who made her first appearance since returning from international duty with Cape Verde.
Late in the game, substitute Betty Larkin came close to doubling the Bees’ lead with a low cross that the Luton keeper did well to smother.
Lanza also went close in the closing minutes, her long-range strike skimming the top of the crossbar.
The referee’s final whistle confirmed the victory and clean sheet for the Bees, who took all three points back to London.
